Mariel Jasso
Mariel was born and raised in Mexico. She developed an interest in art from a young age, which led her to explore any and every medium available to her.
At age 12, she moved to Boise. The experience made her acutely aware of the contrasts between the two places, particularly in the built environment and the ways it shapes everyday life. It also sparked a lasting curiosity about how culture and architecture influence one another.
She went on to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture with a Minor in Art, as well as a Master of Architecture from The University of Idaho. Eager to explore the relationship between culture and the built environment, she took every opportunity to study abroad, spending time in Rome, London, and Singapore, and any city she could visit along the way. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and a variety of ever rotating creative hobbies (most recently knitting). She also continues to pursue art whenever possible.
