MEADOW GOLD DAIRY

industrial | boise, idaho

BRS Architects conducted a multi-phased project for Meadow Gold Dairy to upgrade and expand its downtown Boise location. The project entailed master planning, facility upgrades for Building Code and ADA compliance, downtown streetscape improvements, and the design and construction oversight for a new warehouse addition. Redevelopment of the area was part of the motivation behind the project and Meadow Gold wanted to be in a position where it could blend into the new neighborhood and expand its storage, office, and production capabilities.

The addition of a new 5,294 s.f. warehouse building was constructed in 2005 to eliminate vehicle trips from the dairy to an off site storage facility. One of the redevelopment requirements of the City of Boise and CCDC, in addition to street trees, benches and historic street lighting, a public art component was required as part of the project and will occupy space on a length of the CMU wall that confines the project when funding is available. BRS Architects was charged with creating an urban, street friendly design for this evolving neighborhood in downtown Boise and succeeded with a project that will serve as the catalyst as more of the adjacent buildings are redeveloped.
