Housed in Eagle’s esteemed Winding Creek Development, the Bank of the Cascades building was designed to adhere to the strict design standards held by the city’s Planning Department. The project was originally brought to BRS Architects as a corporate prototype design by another architectural firm. To appease both the client and the city’s design review committee the project was redesigned to respond to site constraints and to integrate with the surrounding community. The stucco and glass material palette was improved upon to include heavy timbers, dynamic tapered stone columns and vast amounts of energy efficient glazing. In accordance with advanced natural day-lighting techniques, the lobby is flanked on both sides by fully glazed managerial offices preserving views to the exterior and allowing light to flood into the vaulted lobby space. An airy yet vivid color assortment was utilized to play with sunshine pouring through these windows.
